The Alcester and Forest of Arden Food Festival aims to promote regional fine food and drinks by bringing suppliers and shoppers to the
beautiful and historic town of Alcester. The organisers wish to encourage growers and producers of specialist foods across the region providing an exciting and colourful
market
for their produce.
Alcester has always welcomed and supported events that encourage visitors to the town. The Food Festival takes place in the picturesque High Street, Church
Street and Henley Street, which are closed to traffic on the day. In fact the Festival takes over the town!
Year on year, our Festivals are growing in success and have proved extremely popular with local residents and the many visitors to Alcester. A bonus for our town
has
been more awareness of what Alcester and its surrounding area can offer. Our aim is to continue working with the support of Stratford upon Avon District Council in the
business development
of country towns and local tourism.
In 2010 and 2011 substantial donations were made to the conservation of the historic War Memorial Town Hall in Alcester. The organisers plan to continue this
support
to local organisations where possible.
